Years later I think I’ve got it.
Just do what needs to be done at bare minimum and don’t worry about the rest of it.
Experience will help you learn how to perfect the process so your results are better the next time around.
Instead of letting perfectionism paralyze you or increase your anxiety with considerations of how anything could go wrong, just do what you know now. You will figure out the rest as you go along. That’s just what happens. There’s no way you can’t find a way out of something. There’s no way of escaping improvement on things you work on. You will naturally hone your skills just by working on something.
Set up basic systems and don’t worry about the stuff outside of it. Once you come across an issue, think about what step you can place in your existing process to prevent it from occurring in the future and move on.
If you’re worried about something going wrong, think of what you can do that’s within your power if that happens and move on (i.e., don’t think further on it after you’ve determined what steps you will take in the likelihood of that setback happening).
Life is going to happen. Things are going to go wrong. As long as you update your processes when it happens or have a plan for when it does go wrong, there’s nothing you can do other than ride that wave when it hits.
