Humanity is running out of options.
The colonies are failing. Resources are scarce. Survival depends on a nearby world engineered long ago by a vanished human civilization—a world designed to sustain life, if harvested correctly.
To find her lost brother, a young explorer named Veya Damaris, joins an expeditionary corporation tasked with extracting resources to supply the surrounding colonies and travels to a volatile yet breathtaking new planet—the place he was last seen alive. Officially, her mission is simple: extract what the colonies need. Unofficially, she intends to uncover what happened to him.
She expects the planet to be dangerous. She doesn’t expect the people beside her to matter so much.
Paxie, a high-spirited medic-in-training, daughter of one of the colonies’ ruling families—and the last person Veya would’ve expected to connect with—becomes an unlikely ally. Ezren, whose encyclopedic knowledge of the planet often proves more useful than field experience, becomes an invaluable mentor. Kade, the expedition’s highly skilled and controlled leader, who—normally risk-averse and by-the-book—places a dangerous amount of faith in Veya’s ability to pull off the improbable, even if it entails breaking a few rules. And then there’s Ry, the cocky second-in-command who keeps his distance yet somehow always seems to be the one stepping in to keep her out of danger, making his presence increasingly difficult to ignore.
Somewhere between dangerous expeditions, close calls, and long days far from home, they begin to become something more than a team.
But as the corporation digs deeper into the planet’s systems, strange patterns emerge. The world does not behave as expected. The closer she comes to the truth about her brother’s disappearance, the more she realizes he may have discovered something no one was meant to find.
Now she must decide: help humanity not only survive but potentially thrive at any cost… or defend the one world that may hold any future for them.

If you haven’t already and you’re curious: read the story summary here. Light bled through the almost translucent violet leaves, turning the jungle into a cathedral of glass and shadow. The air was thick enough to taste—damp, metallic, alive. Veya Damaris had read about this world, but the reports hadn’t captured the way the air pressed…
Biosphere – Chapter 2: The Empty Grave
After two years of preparation, filing unanswered requests, training in secret and hunting down every restricted field report she could get her hands on — Veya Damaris is finally going to Thalyss. The same planet that swallowed her brother whole and sent back nothing but his belongings and a report that said predator attack, remains…
