Aka the ‘track yourself’ advice. Akin to making a daily journal of just a list of what you ate or what expenses you’ve incurred. What was the saying? “What gets measured, gets managed.”
This is something I struggle with a lot. I usually sell myself short, in particular when it comes to my career or even when I think to make the leap to becoming an entrepreneur. I don’t feel like I am smart enough, know enough or talented enough to get far, though I am extremely driven. The only thing I feel I have going for me is the fact that I work hard.
But she suggested something that I’ve been doing with gratitude that I hadn’t thought to do with building my own self-worth: write down 3 things you did well today/are proud of yourself for doing or 3 ways you’ve added value to the world.
“No one will value you more than you value yourself.” – Kate Northrup
That’s something that rings true in the career world. I know people who get ahead just because of the confidence they have in themselves and people who ultimately hold themselves back because the don’t feel that they can get far. Reminding yourself of your worth, of what value you bring to the world every night will help you eventually break out of that mindset and hopefully start making strides in your life.
